Married

After many months of silence I pick up from my last entry on my engagement to say that married life is wonderful. The wait for God's best is well worth it. Waiting is a good thing and one that allows you to enjoy full joy when the time of fulfillment comes.

I could never have imagined how blessed I would be to celebrate the covenant of marriage with so many family and friends. It made everything so special and worthwhile. All of the countless hours of planning and preparing for that one special day are well worth it!

But my greatest blessing was to sense the presence and glory of God throughout the day! I felt as though the Lord was empowering me to stand and make the promise I did to Susan. When your time comes and your walking in His will, you will know and sense His presence and power in such a demanding covenant as marriage. He is faithful to lead us and faithful to empower us to carry out the promises we make on that day. In all of the time I was standing at the alter I sensed that I was overshadowed by His presence and glory. I came to realize in the planning stage that my wedding day wasn't "my day" or "our day", but even this was His day. Everyday is the day that the Lord has made and we choose to rejoice in it as believers. I truly felt like that Susan and I were overshadowed by His presence and glory. I really fell like that's why the day was as special to us as it was. Once again, it all comes back to his glory. Its what we were made for-to reflect and to enjoy! Praise Him for being so good and faithful to show us the way to experience His glory. Better is one day in His courts where His glory is than thousands elsewhere!

PT has fallen from the ranks of singleness!!! In the words of one brother, "It was a solid run PT." Yes, the single life was exciting and free with many oportunities to serve the Lord unhindered and without restriction. Thats what Paul's main point in 1 Corinthians 7 is when he speaks about the benefits of living "in undivided devotion to the Lord" as he phrases it.

But all good things must come to an end. Proverbs says. "He that finds a wife finds a good thing." I have found a good thing!!! Susan Kang is a good thang!!! Though I have not married yet, my mind is already there in its focus and preparations. Its an exciting time for me, one that I have imgained and dreamed about for many, many, many years!!!

I write to inform you all and to encourage you as well. Being single is wonderful and the possibilities are endless for you in the Lord and in ministry. Enjoy your time in this state and serve the Lord will all you have, for there will come a day when you will have those "distractions" as Paul refers to them that encompass marriage and family. They are good "distractions" when they come, but they are life changing and permanent. Therefore make the most of this opportunity while you are in the single state. I can confer that when that time comes for you to transition into married life, you will have no regrets as to how you served and the things you did during that single state. Bless the Lord and know that 1 Cor 15:58 holds true in whatever state we find ourselves in.

"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. ALWAYS give yourselves FULLY to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
